Calathea 'Beauty Star'

Calathea Beauty Star is a genuinely stunning member of the Calathea family. Its long, upright leaves are a deep green decorated with fine, feathery silver stripes that radiate from the midrib in an intricate, star-like pattern. The undersides are a soft purple. Like all Calatheas it performs the characteristic prayer plant movement, folding its leaves upward each evening and opening them again each morning.

Good for beginners? It requires more care than basic houseplants but is more tolerant than some of the more demanding Calathea varieties. Consistent moisture, indirect light, and some humidity keep it thriving.

Safe for cats and dogs? Yes. Calathea is non-toxic to pets, making it safe for homes with cats and dogs.

Light needs: Bright to medium indirect light keeps the silver striping most vivid. It tolerates lower light but the markings become less defined. Avoid direct sun which will scorch and fade the patterned leaves.
