Hoya 'Rope Plant' Variegated Rare

Hoya Rope Plant Variegated is the rarest and most coveted version of the beloved Hindu Rope Hoya. It has all the same thick, curling, sculptural leaves as the standard Rope Plant, but with stunning creamy white and pale yellow variegation swirling through the green. Each stem is a unique combination of color. It is slow growing, long lived, and produces the same fragrant, star-shaped waxy flower clusters as the standard variety.

Good for beginners? Yes, as long as you stay on the dry side with watering. Variegated Hoyas are slightly more light-hungry than their all-green counterparts due to having less chlorophyll, but the care is otherwise identical to the standard Rope Plant.

Safe for cats and dogs? Hoya carnosa compacta is considered non-toxic to pets.

Light needs: Bright indirect light is essential for this variety. More light means better variegation and a higher chance of blooming. An east or west-facing window is ideal.

Care at a glance: Water only when the soil is completely dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Never remove old flower spurs as they bloom again from the same point. Enjoys slightly higher humidity but adapts well to normal home conditions.
