Philodendron 'Brasil'

Philodendron Brasil is the variegated, tropical-looking upgrade on the classic Heartleaf Philodendron. Its heart-shaped leaves are split between deep green and vivid chartreuse-yellow — the yellow running down the center of each leaf in an irregular, organic pattern that makes every leaf unique. It trails readily, grows quickly, and is one of the most cheerful and visually energizing trailing plants you can grow indoors.

Light needs: Bright indirect light keeps the yellow variegation most vivid and the growth fastest. It tolerates medium light well but the chartreuse yellow becomes less defined in lower light. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the lighter portions of the leaves.

Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Provide a trellis or moss pole to encourage climbing and larger, more dramatic leaves. Trim regularly to keep vines full and lush.
