Calathea 'Grey Star'

Calathea Grey Star is one of the most quietly sophisticated plants in the Calathea family. Its long, upright leaves are a cool, silvery grey-green with darker green zones along the midrib, creating a soft, muted pattern that works beautifully in modern and minimalist interiors. The undersides are a rich, deep purple. Like all Calatheas it folds its leaves upward each evening and opens them again in the morning, making it as captivating in motion as it is at rest.

Good for beginners? It requires more care than basic plants but is considered manageable for growers who can provide consistent moisture and some humidity. Its muted coloring makes it slightly more tolerant of imperfect conditions than more vividly patterned varieties.
