Ctenanthe Amagris, known as the Fishbone Plant or Never Never Plant, is one of the most elegantly patterned prayer plants available. Its oval, pale grey-green leaves are decorated with dramatic dark green curving stripes that radiate from the midrib in a precise, fishbone-like pattern. The stems and leaf undersides are a deep, rich purple. Like its Calathea and Maranta relatives it folds its leaves upward each evening and opens them again in the morning.

Good for beginners? It requires more care than beginner plants but is considered manageable for growers who can provide consistent moisture and some humidity. It is more forgiving than some Calathea varieties.
