Hoya Curtisii is one of the most endearing miniature Hoyas in any collection. Its tiny, thick, succulent leaves are a soft olive green mottled with silver-grey markings that give each leaf a mottled, almost camouflage-like pattern. It grows in a tight, trailing mat that eventually cascades beautifully over the edge of a pot or shelf. It is slow-growing, long-lived, and one of the most charming small plants you can own.

Good for beginners? Yes. Hoya Curtisii is drought-tolerant, compact, and very forgiving. Its small size makes it easy to place anywhere and its succulent leaves mean it handles missed waterings without drama.

Safe for cats and dogs? Hoya is considered non-toxic to pets.

Light needs: Bright indirect light brings out the best silver mottling and encourages the tightest, most compact growth. It tolerates medium light but the markings become less defined. Avoid very low light.

Care at a glance: Water only when the soil is completely dry. As a succulent-leaved Hoya it prefers underwatering. Feed monthly in spring and summer with a diluted fertilizer. Do not remove old flower spurs — they bloom again from the same points.

Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee — if it arrives damaged, we replace it. Free shipping on orders $149+.

Botanical Name: Hoya curtisii

Shipping & Returns

We offer a 30-day guarentee. Fulfillment takes approx 2-4 days and shipping 3-5 days from greenhouse to doorstep. Nov-Mar we recommend adding winter plant shipping protection to your order or it will not be covered by our 30-day guarentee.

Care Instructions

Light: Place in bright, indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can cause the leaves to burn.
Water: Water the top inch of the soil feels dry. Allow the soil to dry out completely in between watering. Don't water too often as this can cause root rot.
Soil: This prefers a well-draining, aerated potting soil.
Temperature: It prefers warm temperatures between 65-80 °F.
Fertilizer: Fertilize once a month during the spring and summer month with balanced liquid Fertilizer
