Hoya 'Publicalyx'

Hoya Publicalyx is one of the most vigorous and rewarding Hoyas you can grow. Its long, trailing vines are covered in deep green, lance-shaped leaves that are often mottled with flecks of silvery variegation, and in brighter light the stems develop beautiful purple tones. It grows with genuine enthusiasm, climbs readily up a trellis, and produces clusters of dark, wine-red to pink star-shaped flowers with a rich, sweet fragrance when it blooms.

Good for beginners? Yes. Hoya Publicalyx is one of the more vigorous and forgiving Hoyas available. It grows faster than many Hoya varieties and adapts well to average home conditions.

Safe for cats and dogs? Hoya is considered non-toxic to pets.

Light needs: Bright indirect light produces the most silvery leaf mottling, the most vivid purple stem coloring, and the best chance of blooming. It tolerates medium light but growth slows and flowering is reduced.

Care at a glance: Allow soil to dry between waterings. Never let it sit in water. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Never remove old flower spurs as they bloom again from the same point. Provide a trellis or hanging basket for best display.
