Peperomia Rosso is one of the most striking small houseplants you can own. Its deeply ridged, dark green leaves have a corrugated texture on top and vibrant crimson red undersides that flash color as the leaves move. The contrast between the rich green above and the intense red below makes it look like something hand-painted. It stays compact, grows slowly, and fits beautifully on a desk, shelf, or as part of a mixed plant display.

Good for beginners? Yes. Peperomia Rosso is low-maintenance and very forgiving. It tolerates lower light, inconsistent watering, and most home conditions without drama.

Safe for cats and dogs? Yes. Peperomia is non-toxic to pets, making it safe for homes with cats and dogs.

Light needs: Bright to medium indirect light keeps the red undersides most vivid. It tolerates lower light but colors may become less intense. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the textured leaves.

Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Peperomias store water in their leaves so they prefer underwatering to overwatering. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Maintain indoor temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees for best growth.

Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee — if it arrives damaged, we replace it. Free shipping on orders $149+.
