Tradescantia Nanouk is the most boldly colorful plant in the Tradescantia family. Its thick, succulent-like leaves are a vivid blend of purple, pink, green, and white that makes it look almost painted. It is compact, fast-growing, and produces small three-petaled flowers in pale pink. The color intensity is most vivid in bright light and the plant grows densely enough to create a genuinely lush display whether trailing from a shelf, hanging in a basket, or grouped with other plants.

Good for beginners? Yes. Tradescantia Nanouk is easy-going, fast-growing, and very forgiving. It communicates clearly when it needs water and bounces back quickly from occasional neglect.

Safe for cats and dogs? Tradescantia is considered mildly toxic to pets if ingested and can cause skin irritation. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.

Light needs: Bright indirect light produces the most vivid purple and pink coloring. In lower light the colors fade significantly toward a duller green. An east or west-facing window is ideal.

Care at a glance: Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Pinch back tips regularly to encourage a full, bushy shape. Trim leggy stems to keep the plant looking its most vibrant.

Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee. Free shipping on orders $149+.
